Management Training Program - 16 Week –Online Program

Offered by: Guild Education

College credits:

Course length: 16-week program

This practical and interactive program on management emphasizes the theory, practice, and iteration of great management in action, designed for new and future managers in the workplace. Through the process of reflection, experimentation, and application, this 16-week course aims to make you a more effective manager. You will practice effective communication, leadership strategies, problem-solving, and leading operations through role-plays, activities, case studies, short readings, and discussions. The content, readings, videos, and activities you engage in will help you to better understand how to work with, lead, and inspire others, at the individual and group level. Our objective is not to teach you the right way to manage others—there are many. Rather, we aim to expand your toolkit so that you can build on your authentic management foundation.

  • Provide you with the theory, research and conceptual frameworks for understanding the best practices of modern management.
  • Provide opportunities and tools for analysis and reflection on your personal model of leadership.
  • Support you in developing and practicing the practical skills of managing people and teams.

By the end of this bootcamp, you will have looked at management through many different lenses, with the ability to:

  • Build a Foundation: Explore, identify, and discuss the key concepts, qualities, strategies, and skills needed to be a successful manager.

  • Develop Skills: Begin to strengthen and refine your own management skill-set through role-play, improv, practice activities, and feedback opportunities with your peers and coach.

  • Connect-the-Dots: Strengthen your awareness and skills for negotiating the relationships that exist between multiple elements of management including communication, time-management, relationship building, and interpersonal dynamics within organizations.

  • See the Big Picture: Deepen your understanding of the complexity of management and how managers greatly impact an organization’s overall work culture.

  • Reflect and Dream: Reflect on your current experience in management, your strengths and weaknesses, and identify personalized goals for continued growth.

  • Make a Plan: Design a plan for continuing to develop your management skills, and explore multiple resources available to help you into the future.
