The Benefits of a BSN degree at Brandman

The program builds on your current experience and nursing practice skills, integrating them with new and innovative ways to think about the health care system. The Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) is designed for the Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate's Degree in Nursing who wants to make a difference in the industry and deliver patient-centered care. Emphasis is placed the use of technology, improving outcomes, innovative leadership, and using evidence-based practice.

Building upon your nursing practice skills and experience, this unique degree focuses on direct application while giving you the flexibility to study while you work. Accelerate towards graduation by taking two courses every eight-week term and complete the nursing major core curriculum within one year of full-time study. Year round sessions with part time study is also available. The program also prepares students for a seamless movement into Brandman's Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree, which together can be completed in as little as 4 years. An RN to BSN degree will increase your knowledge and professional skills while offering opportunities for negotiating a higher salary.

The RN to BSN degree program is delivered using a blend of: one 4-day immersion session at the beginning of the program; internships/clinical practice in hospitals, clinics and health centers near your home or work; and online lectures, demonstrations and exercises.

CCNE Accreditation

The Brandman Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degrees are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)*. Students who complete any of the Brandman BSN to DNP, post-master’s to DNP with added specialty or post-doctoral certificate programs are eligible for ANCC, AANP or PNCB national certification**.

**Students who complete these programs have the educational preparation to sit for the ANCC, AANP or PNCB national certification in the advanced practice registered nursing role within the specialty population. Applicants must also meet any additional eligibility criteria in effect when they apply for certification.
