MS in Healthcare Leadership with a concentration in Healthcare Policy and Regulatory Leadership - 

This concentration is designed for those who are passionate about developing long-term solutions to the healthcare challenges we face today. Learn skills required to shape, interpret, implement and evaluate policies and regulations that affect healthcare systems and the safety of patients. You will develop a robust understanding of healthcare systems, legislative procedures, and quality improvement as they relate to continuously evolving healthcare policy. You will learn how to:
  • Compare varying healthcare systems domestically and internationally
  • Navigate the legislative process
  • Create effective and lasting healthcare public policy
  • Manage change and innovation
  • Ensure quality assurance through professional standards and accreditation
  • Analyze policies, reform, and processes

Completion of this concentration will provide students with the body of knowledge required to successfully prepare for the National Association of Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) accreditation examination. Consult your advisor about electives or a certificate, from other Healthcare Leadership concentrations or one of the other University College programs, to enhance your career in shaping, implementing, and analyzing healthcare policies.

Core courses - 20 qtr. hrs 

Concentration courses - 16 qtr. hrs (Choose 4) 
Elective courses - 12 qtr. hrs (Choose 3)
Electives may be chosen from among all courses in Healthcare Leadership programs. You may also select courses from other University College graduate programs with approval from the academic director. 

Your academic advisor will help you select electives that align with your career and personal goals, and your advisor will obtain any necessary approvals from the academic director.
