Guild Education Pledges No Employee Lay-Offs; Focuses on Outskilling Efforts for Laid Off and Furloughed Workers

Amid COVID-19 Crisis, Guild Education Joins Salesforce and Other Leaders in Making Pledge to Employe

DENVER, April 1, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Guild Education, a B Corporation focused on creating opportunity for America’s workforce through education is committing to the no-layoff pledge, joining leading companies like its partner Salesforce in pledging to make no employee lay-offs during the next 3 months as they navigate this difficult time for employees and their families.

Guild recognizes the unique position it’s in to make such a commitment and is deeply empathetic of the difficult situation that many other businesses face as they consider layoffs. With that care, Guild is focused on doing what the company can to help. As a result, Guild will be working with universities around the US to offer unique training and learning opportunities for laid off and furloughed workers.

The COVID-19 crisis has highlighted many inequalities that exist in society and that need to be fixed, including the skills gap that requires significant reskilling. With that in mind, Guild is increasing its efforts to provide upskilling and outskilling opportunities to assist workers who have been laid off by their employers. Working with universities and learning partners across the US, laid off or furloughed frontline employees will have the ability to engage in skills-based training and advance towards a higher skilled job.
